Pepsi-Cola, now called simply Pepsi, is a global brand of cola and related soft drinks. The drink was first introduced as “Brad’s Drink” in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, in 1893 by Caleb Bradham. It was renamed as Pepsi-Cola on August 28, 1898, then to Pepsi in 1961. The word ‘pepsi’ comes from the pepsin and kola nuts used during the original recipe development process.
