– Do not wear a belt with a dress or shirt unless hem is visible. This will allow for the dress/shirt and belt to hit at the same level, minimizing the appearance of the skirt, or picking up the hem.
– Gear the width of the next to the color of the item it is going with. For example, if the belt is white, white, or black it is best worn with a dress that has a hem.
– Loosen the belt if it will create a bulge that will show out of the waistline.
