Top Netflix TV Series in HDR That You Can Watch

Nothing beats the feeling of curling up on your couch while binging on your favourite Netflix series in HDR after a long day. But why HDR, specifically? High dynamic range, often known as ‘HDR’ is a contemporary television technology that gives your watching experience a little more exciting.

HDR isn’t that difficult to get these days. Plus, Netflix makes it relatively easier to access Dolby Vision/HDR10 titles where you would only have to search “HDR” on the search bar on your phone or TV. Along with that, here’s a list of the best Netflix TV series that’s available in HDR.

The Crown

The Crown is one of Netflix's most popular original series that features in HDR. That is indeed due in part to the incredible cinematography that is infused into this recreation of Queen Elizabeth II's initial years.

This lavish production, featuring Claire Foy and Matt Smith (and, beginning in the third season, Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies) cost above £100 million to produce. It boasts a stunning level of historical authenticity as well as several powerful performances. You’d surely never leave your TV the moment you start on the first episode.

Peaky Blinders

This classical series has quite a theatrical flair that makes it look like a motion picture at first glance. Yet, since the first episode, the whole series has had exceptional production value. The first five seasons were brought into Netflix with HDR quality. However, the sixth season brought 4k resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos to the video stream, bringing even better visual and aural clarity.

The One

This series takes place in London's digital boom market and depicts the unstoppable development of the organization that controls the algorithm. The notion of this crime/sci-fi series is excellent and unanimously appealing. This also tells the story of how its founders are willing to go in-depth in order to defend themselves and their triumph. A must-see series thanks to several outstanding performances and intriguing concepts.

Lost in Space

If you enjoy science fiction and the exotic scenery that comes with it, both seasons of Lost In Space are wonderfully crisp in HDR and vibrant with colour, which has been further enhanced with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos Audio. You might not even need HDR to admire the colour scheme of this show, although there is a considerable enhancement on smartphones and HDR TV with Dolby Vision in terms of colour range and illumination.

Cursed

Cursed, which was created by both Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler has one of the best-looking first season on Netflix. All of the episodes were shot in 4K/HDR and beautifully presented on TV or devices that support High-Definition Range and Dolby Vision. The music composition of this Netflix series sounds even better with Dolby Atmos quality.

Star Trek Discovery

Discovery, the seventh Star Trek series, was first created for CBS All Access. Yet, it was also released on Netflix worldwide several months after. This series is promising a tantalising universe of maximum overdrive and cosmic warfare. It’s a kind of drama that fits all of the directors’ brilliant ideas because they are unable to decide amongst them all. However, there is a fair mix of fresh plots and classic references to give this show a well worth watching experience.
