With its bright red color and distinctive taste, there’s no mistaking the refreshingly daring flavors that make up a can of Pepsi. The flavor of Pepsi has gone through several iterations over the years, starting with Brad’s Drink and onto Ginger Cola, then to Brads Cola. In 1898, Caleb Bradham renamed his drink Pepsi-Cola. 3 years later, he decided to shorten the name to just Pepsi. There is no official recipe for how to make Pepsi, but we do know that it includes blended aromatics and pectin which are non-nutritive sweeteners commonly used as food additives.
