Google Earth is a mapping service that provides the capability to view Three dimensional (3D) representations of Earth and features accompanying 2D map data images in much the same way as maps are seen on paper. This includes the appearance of buildings and trees from various angles, and 3D terrain features, city boundaries, etc. This is done by using satellite images overlaid with supplemental imagery, aerial photography for topographic representation, and GIS data for geographical information.
