On December 3, 2013, NBC renewed the series for a second season, which began on September 25, 2014. On May 11, 2014, the series was renewed for a third season, which began on October 1, 2015. On December 5, 2015, the series was renewed for a fourth season, which began on September 22, 2016. On May 11, 2017, the series was renewed for a fifth season. On May 12, 2018, NBC television ordered a sixth season of the series. On March 11, 2019, the NBC network officially renewed The Blacklist for a seventh season. The seventh season premiered on October 4, 2019. On February 20, 2020, the series was renewed for an eighth season. On January 27, 2021, the series was renewed for a ninth season. It premiered on October 21, 2021. On February 22, 2022, the series was renewed for a tenth season.
