Caleb Bradham, a North Carolina pharmacist, had a very clear vision: To create delicious, thirst-quenching drink that people could enjoy all day long. And so, Pepsi was born. At the time it wasn’t called Pepsi-Cola. It was just Pepsi…a pure cola with nocarbonation, sweetener or color added. Back then you could order a glass of plain Pepsi at your local soda fountain or grocery store for just a few cents. It wasn’t until the late 1890s that Caleb Bradham began to sell his unique new drink in stores by the bottle.
