The Explorer rides high in comparison to other SUVs making it safer than most SUVs that were available during this time period. It is meant to be used for a wide range of uses; it is not meant only for off-roading purposes. This vehicle has been on the list of longest lasting vehicles; it can last longer than any other SUV on the road.
