Hi! On Wednesday, January 30, I watched a Movie and product placement was spotted: Cardkey Electronic Access Control System in WarGames (1983).

Reading University (UK) used to have one of these for their out-of-hours access to the Computer Science building. It always made me think of War Games and smile when I used it.
The cards were kind of novel. They seemed to be optical with voids inside, sort of like a punched card. I assume the card reader passed a light through the card to read them – IR maybe?
