Friends is a sitcom, set in New York City, that features the lives of six friends: Chandler, Joey, Ross, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel. Each episode is written in the framework of a plot featuring one or more of the friends. Normally these involve Chandler and/or Joey getting involved with some kind of romantic entanglement. The two would be involved together, as would Monica and Ross. The other two characters (Rachel and Phoebe) would have their own subplots that usually overlapped with the main plot.
